I think that’s what they’ll call me when I’m dead and gone. Or maybe that’s what they already call me. Hey, if the shoe fits… Anyway, I have A LOT of coffee mugs. Like I won’t even estimate a guess because it will probably be embarrassingly high. I love to drink coffee and I love to do it out of a different mug every time – it’s just more fun! Over the past year or so I’ve really amassed quite the collection, and apartment living in Los Angeles doesn’t afford me a very big kitchen (read: I have a teensy, tiny kitchen that is barely bigger than a postage stamp). In this teensy kitchen, I have like 5 cupboards. Okay, maybe 7. But seriously – SO SMALL. So I asked my Dad to build me a coffee cup display that would serve dual purposes of showcases my fab collection and freeing up much needed cabinet space for other important (but boring) kitchen items.
My Dad is a rockstar. This is the coffee mug display that he made me, in all it’s glory:
So good, right? But don’t be fooled, these aren’t even all of the coffee mugs I own (they don’t all fit) but most of my favorites. I get questions all the time about where I got this mug or that mug and whatnot, so I thought now would be a good time to share where I found some of my favorite mugs.
These are all from Homegoods, which is one of my favorite places to look for mugs. Every store is different and I live between two big Homegoods stores, so I always find something good!
Yup, these first three are all Kate Spade and I found them at Homegoods! My favorite might be the “Skirt the Rules” one.
I love the flamingo (she’s just so cute!) and of course I had to grab the Batman one for the boyf. When we first started going out he would call me when he was doing laundry (or other random things) and it would sound like he was someplace crazy. I used to joke around with him that he was Batman, out fighting crime or something, and the nickname kinda stuck. Hey, what can I say? I’m dating Batman.
“Wake Up” mug from Pixel Paper Hearts ($20) is one of my favorite Monday mugs. When I need some writing motivation, the Write Like a Motherfucker mug ($13) usually does the trick – haha! And the Don’t Quit Your Daydream mug by Jenna Kutcher for Society6 ($15) is inspirational and gorgeous.
If you know anything about me at all, I would think you would know about my obsession with donuts, my love of FRIENDS the Tv Show (Can I just marry Ross?!) and my loathing of pants. Donut Ever Let me Go mug is from Target ($4), Central Perk Mug found on Amazon ($13), and Basically Just Waiting to Go Home and Take Off my Pants mug by the oh-so-talented Emily McDowell ($16).
Another good Monday morning mug is the I HATE EVERYONE AND PANTS from Society6 ($15). And of course I need a few good tumblers, like these from Starbucks ($15). What can I say, I like my coffee to have a face.
Okay, I know I promised you the apartment tour would continue with the bar cart, but it’s just not ready yet. I’m still hunting for the last few accessories and then I promise to share it with you all! Hope you are enjoying these little apartment tour posts because they are so fun for me! Where are your favorite places to find mugs?
Happy coffee cup hunting!
